Cornish at 3-4ft glassy
Finished work at 4:30 on Tuesday the reports for Lahinch were saying 3-4ft. I was half way down and I got a call telling me to hurry that it was 4ft clean. I seem to have timed it perfect. The tide was fully in at 9 o clock I was in the water by 6 o clock. When I arrived the reefs were pumping Cornish was going off at about 4ft and was real glassy. It had serious shape and an easy channel back out. There was a great atmosphere in the water. On the next break over some guys were pulling into a few small barrels. I think everyone was on a high. I know I was. My shoulders were sore by the end of the night from paddling back out after each wave.
My buddies got some serious waves too Stewert on his Shallow Reef 9’0 was on fire. I was lucky enough to be paddling back out once or twice to see him navigate his way down the line and Eimhin was sitting really deep and pulled into a few bombs. I just sat back for a bit and remembered when I was starting off a few years back and I used to look at those guys on the reef and envy them. I couldn’t wait to get out there and now I’m there in the thick of things picking off wave after wave. It was a good feeling. I am lucky to have my buddies with me. There is a certain comradely between us all which pushes your surfing along because you want to top the last wave.
All in all we had a great session. Now back to the computer and keep an eye on the next swell to hit the west. Will let you know about our next session.
Soon.
Cormac.
